Linear Algebra for Bachelor Engineering Students

Synopsis

Educational Level: Bachelor

The key ideas of linear algebra are presented from a geometric viewpoint, starting with vectors, lines, and planes. Standard topics such as linear systems, matrices, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and orthogonality are treated clearly, followed by more advanced themes like symmetric matrices and discrete dynamical systems.

The book includes many interactive applets that give students hands-on experience, along with numerous embedded exercises offering personalized feedback. Together, these create an engaging environment for learning linear algebra.

Funding for this project was provided by a grant from the NPO (Nationaal Programma Onderwijs).

The head editorial team of the 2nd edition of this book consisted of:

  • Dennis (D.) den Ouden-van der Horst
  • René (R.F.) Swarttouw
  • Yoni (Y.) Geubbels

More information on all team members can be found in the book’s Acknowledgements section.
